Abbadia Sicille

Abbadia Sicille, which runs along the road from Amorosa, lies in the direction of Petroio. The name is taken from the abbey of the Jerusalemite Benedictine monks of Santa Maria a Sicille whose place name refers to the Secne, Etruscan landowners, becoming Secenii in Latin (Secennilae in the possessive form). The first documents date back to 1177, but it was founded much earlier. It is now a hotel.
